Jason Landau Goodman for State Representative > State House Candidate Jason Landau Goodman Statement on the Retirement Announcement of Rep. Mary Jo Daley (HD-148)

Lower Merion, Pa. — This morning State Representative Mary Jo Daley (D-Montgomery) announced her retirement from the General Assembly at the conclusion of the current legislative session in 2026. Jason Landau Goodman, an environmental attorney and civil rights advocate from Lower Merion who announced his candidacy for the seat earlier this week, applauded Rep. Daley for her years of service.

“Representative Daley is to be commended for her longtime service to Narberth and the communities of the 148th House District. She has devoted decades of her life to improving the lives of our neighbors. Her leadership in encouraging women and Pennsylvanians of diverse backgrounds to run for office has made a measurable impact.

I first met Representative Daley when I was a college student fighting for the landmark nondiscrimination ordinance in Lower Merion and she was the co-chair of the Democratic Committee of Lower Merion and Narberth (DCLMN). When I was just getting started in local and statewide advocacy, when I was unsure if someone like me would be welcomed and supported, Rep. Daley warmly invited me into DCLMN. I thank her for helping me understand that when you work hard and remain persistent, you have a place on the front lines in making a difference.”

Jason Landau Goodman announced his candidacy to run for the office of State Representative of the 148th House District at a launch event in Bala Cynwyd on Sunday, September 28th. His candidacy has already secured widespread backing of Democratic committee members, civic leaders, and local elected officials.

The 148th House District comprises a majority of Lower Merion Township, all of Whitemarsh Township, and all of Narberth Borough.
